This article is about a pilot project done in Westchester county on converting vegetable oil into fuel for cars in the county. This project has seen success by officials in Westchester. According to this article for every 10,000 gallons of oil it collects the county saves $25,000 in diesel fuel costs.
Business owners benefit as well, they do not have to pay as much to have the oil removed by private companies. If they expand this project it is good for taxpayers as well as the environment.
