I am glad to see that some of you have posted to the blog. Wasn't hard at all, right?
It is a good way to share what you discover with your classmates. You don't have to limit it to the assignments. If you find something worthwhile (a science, math, or technology related video) that you think we will enjoy post it!
On to Fort Wadsworth. I have been in touch with the Rangers at the facility and the trip will be on 2/23 as seen in the syllabus.
Bus: S51 from Staten Island Ferry Terminal to the park entrance on Bay Street.
Car: From the Verrazano Narrows Bridge from Brooklyn: after toll, take the Bay Street exit to the Park entrance. From the Staten Island Expressway (Rt. 278) east to the Bay Street exit. Turn left at the light and follow this road to Bay Street and the park entrance.
Ferry: From Manhattan: take the Staten Island Ferry from Battery Park and follow instructions for the bus.
Note about driving directions: Make sure you use the LOWER ROADWAY and stay to the RIGHT (see Link above)! The Bay Street exit is only accessible from that lane! The map above gives directions from the College. However, if you plan to drive from any other direction, you only need the directions from the Verrazano on.
We will be in the Main Building. It has the Park Service insignia on it and is across the street from the Visitor's Center. You are allowed to park in that lot for the evening. If you have any questions, be sure to email or leave a comment (as your question may be common).
